I suggested to Kelly in last month's article that she check out the Salvation Army. You can also visit used furniture stores, bargain/dollar stores, and the back rooms of furniture stores where floor samples are displayed. These may have a little damage, but you can get very good quality furniture at a low price in these locations. If it's spring/summer where you live, try the yard sales in your neighborhood. You'll need cash and a vehicle to get the furniture home! (Again, whatever money you can contribute to this project will impress your folks.) Unfinished furniture is great - you can paint it any color you like.
